HHQ-7
The HHQ-7 short range naval SAM system is the main improvement of the Type-053H3 over the previous Type-053H2G.
YJ-83
The YJ-83 subsonic anti-ship missile is the main anti-ship weapon system. Two quadruple launchers are fitted.
YJ-8
Some of the early Type-053H3 were likely armed with YJ-8A subsonic anti-ship missiles, replaced over time with the longer range YJ-83.
100mm Type 79
A single twin barrel 100mm Type 79A dual purpose naval gun is fitted on the bow. At a later stage these were retrofitted with a low radar cross section housing.
37mm Type 76A
Four twin barrel 37mm Type 76A gun turret provide short range air defense and function as a close-in weapon system against missiles.
